With rampant corruption, unemployment, and abuse in the historic 19th century French Revolution, a convicted criminal going by the name of Jean Valjean breaks his parole after nineteen years incarcerated. Through the actions of a good samaritan, Valjean is free to fully escape the law and invents a brand new identity as Monsieur Madeleine, in due time attaining the positions of a factory owner and a mayor. Though previously lucky in building his new life, hidden from his rival Javert, he is regrettably pulled in the uprising of the commoners of Paris, wherein he is forced to make choices that would affect both himself and his adopted daughter, Cosette.

This tale from Victor Hugo's novel, filled with justice and redemption, has been running for several decades in a number of theaters in a considerable number of cities globally. Since its debut in French theatre in the late 1900s, it has deservingly been referred to not just as part of the most smashing shows of all time, but also part of the highly nominated and most-awarded as well. In its worldwide premiere alone, it swept the nominations and awards of the acclaimed Tony Awards, with 12 nominations and 8 out of 12 wins. Les Mis won as Best Direction of a Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Scenic Design, Best Lighting Design, and Best Featured Actor and Actress in a Musical.
