Sacramento born rock authority Cake will bring their monumental sound to Vancouver, British Columbia this summer and they're serving a massive showdown featuring their most treasured hits like "The Distance," and "Short Skirt/ Long Jacket," among others! The showcase takes over the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and it's surefire to be a fun filled power packed evening of boundary pushing rock staples! With their often humorous songs crossing over many genres of music, Cake fans can expect to hear a mix of the classic songs from their 1990s but later releases! Cake blends elements of alternative rock, psychedelia, funk, and jazz with the use of a vibraslap, trumpet, and John McCrea’s distinctive, monotonous vocals to create music that is nothing short of unique.
The prices start at $115 for a night of Cake’s music in an intimate theater setting by one of the alternative rock scene’s pioneers.
The alternative rock show of the year is just around the corner! Get ready to experience the unparalleled performance of the 30 year plus old Sacramento-based band Cake, as they take over the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver on Tuesday, August 25th, 2026. This evening of alternative rock, funk and country by one of the iconic groups in the US will take place in an atmosphere of like-minded fans that are just as enthusiastic and passionate as you are.
Some of the songs that you can expect to be played at the Cake concert are “The Distance”, “Short Skirt/Long Jacket”, “Never There” and many more. The band consists of 5 members: John McCrea (vocalist) – he has a very dead pan delivery, Xan McCrea (guitarist) – the 2nd vocalist, Gail Davis (bassist) – does not play a bass guitar; instead he plays a trumpet and a vibraslap, Paulo “Bundao” Seabra (saxophonist) – also plays percussion and Vladimir Simic (drummer). Their most recent studio release, “Showroom of Compassion” debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. It is expected that fans will be able to hear songs off of “Showroom of Compassion” as well as other tracks from the band’s eight studio releases. Each of Cake’s members play a critical role in producing their Alternative style Rock sound. McCrea is accompanied on stage by, Skip, Vander Tuht on guitar, Gail, Miller on keyboards, Paul, Van Slyke on trumpet and vibraslap and others. The band have been widely received across the America’s receiving gold and platinum certification on many of their songs and albums. Cake have a very extensive library of material, with 8 studio albums to choose from. Their most recent release ‘Showroom of Compassion’ reached the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
