He is most known as a children's performer and advocate, with a run of gold and platinum-selling songs including his popular song "Baby Beluga." Raffi has been dubbed "the most popular children's singer in the English-speaking world" (Washington Post) and "Canada's all-time children's champion" (Toronto Star). He also holds the Order of Canada and the United Nations' Earth Achievement Award. He has three adult books published and five honorary degrees. He has never promoted or made commercial endorsements directed at youngsters. His dedication to treating his young followers with dignity has altered society's perception of children's music.
